The jokes are made up. The factual launchpad should not be.
WHAT WE CORRECT
If a SPILL story materially misstates the real event that inspired the parody, attributes a real statement to the wrong person, misidentifies a source or otherwise gets a factual foundation wrong, we want to know.
WHAT IS PARODY
Fictional agencies, programs, dialogue, products, meetings, rules and other absurd developments created as part of the joke are not presented as literal reporting. Those elements are parody rather than factual claims.
HOW TO FLAG SOMETHING
Use the Contact page and select Correction. Include the story headline or URL, the factual issue you believe is wrong and, when possible, a supporting source. Material corrections may be reflected in the story or an accompanying note.
