SPILL is political parody inspired by real events. The news was already weird. We made the paperwork official.

WHAT SPILL DOES

We start with something that actually happened in American politics, verify the factual launchpad against identifiable reporting, and then take one sharp comedic premise somewhere reality did not. The result is original satire: real event, fictional escalation, poor impulse control.

THE ACTUAL NEWS

New SPILL stories include a source section showing the real reporting that started the mess. Those links are there on purpose. Readers should be able to see where the factual event ends and where the joke takes over.

NOBODY GETS BUBBLE WRAP

SPILL is not a campaign, party organ or political endorsement machine. Presidents, Cabinet officials, members of Congress, candidates, parties, courts, governors and the rest of American politics can all become material when the real news gives us a premise worth spilling.

BEFORE WE GOT WEIRD

SPILL began as a straight-news project. Those earlier stories remain available as an archive and are not retroactively rewritten as satire. New parody stories use the current SPILL format and disclosures.
