Trump Team Puts Greenland on a 30-Day Free Trial
The offer includes complimentary strategic interest, priority boarding for cabinet members, and a return label nobody is authorized to print.

The Trump administration has placed Greenland on a 30-day free trial, according to a new Department of Strategic Hospitality program developed after reports that a Trump-linked group purchased a home for a former Greenland politician.
The program allows the United States to explore “premium territorial compatibility” without making a permanent commitment. A White House-style onboarding packet sent to Danish officials includes a welcome tote, a refrigerator magnet reading WE’RE JUST SEEING WHERE THIS GOES, and a prepaid envelope for returning any glaciers that do not meet expectations.
Officials said the trial begins with a no-obligation period during which the administration may admire Greenland’s mineral resources, shipping lanes, dramatic coastline and ability to make every map in the Situation Room look more decisive. After 30 days, the country will be asked to choose between Basic Interest, Strategic Interest Plus, or the Platinum Sovereignty Bundle, which includes two complimentary presidential flyovers and priority access to a newly branded Arctic “idea lounge.”
The first complication emerged when the administration’s procurement office classified Greenland as both a diplomatic partner and a furnished corporate relocation opportunity. Under federal guidelines, every meeting must now begin with an appraisal, a walk-through and a discussion of whether the island has been staged properly for leadership.
“Nobody is buying anything,” said one official wearing a laminated badge marked HOST NATION EXPERIENCE MANAGER. “We are simply evaluating whether the world’s largest island sparks joy at the current geopolitical price point.”
The plan briefly stalled when an automated customer-service system informed Denmark that ending the trial would trigger a $9.99 early-cancellation fee, plus shipping. Treasury officials spent most of Tuesday determining whether the shipping estimate should be calculated by acreage, coastline, or however many times the president points at Greenland during a briefing.
By evening, the administration had added a loyalty program. For every five diplomatic meetings completed, participating governments receive one free upgrade to “regional partner,” a carry-on-sized defense consultation, and 500 points redeemable for seating at a cabinet luncheon near a map.
The trial’s final terms require Greenland to be returned in its original condition, with all fjords accounted for and no new flags attached.
