Milwaukee’s major league-leading club backed seven sharp innings from Henderson with a balanced offensive night Friday at American Family Field.

Logan Henderson allowed one hit over seven innings as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Texas Rangers 6-1 on Friday, August 28, at American Family Field.

Henderson struck out seven, walked none and yielded only Danny Jansen’s solo homer in the third inning. The win moved Henderson to 9-2 and matched his longest outing of the season.

Milwaukee struck first against Texas starter Cody Bradford. Brice Turang opened the bottom of the first with a bunt single, reached second on an error and scored on William Contreras’ groundout. Christian Yelich then doubled home another run.

The Brewers extended their lead with David Hamilton’s RBI single in the sixth, Contreras’ RBI single in the seventh and two more runs in the eighth. Contreras finished with three RBIs.

Jake Bauers, returning after missing three games with shin splints, went 2-for-2 with three walks, two runs and a stolen base. Milwaukee collected 14 hits while limiting Texas to two.

The Brewers improved to 84-51, retaining the best record in the majors and building their National League Central lead to eight games over the Chicago Cubs. Texas fell to 66-69 and continued a difficult road stretch, with 13 losses in its past 16 away games.
