Pennsylvania State Police said a 28-year-old Conshohocken man died after his dump truck struck a parked water truck early Thursday in Whitpain Township.

A 28-year-old Conshohocken man was killed early Thursday, August 27, after his dump truck crashed into a construction vehicle in an active work zone on northbound I-476 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Troopers were called to the crash near mile marker 25.3 in Whitpain Township at about 2:30 a.m. Police said the left and center lanes were closed for roadwork while the right lane was open.

According to state police, Josh Adens was driving a 2004 Mack tri-axle dump truck in the right lane when it moved into the closed center lane and struck a parked 2023 Freightliner water truck.

Adens suffered catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, police said. The 61-year-old operator of the water truck, who is from McAlisterville, was not injured.

The cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
